« Seven Characteristics of Highly Effective Adult Learning Programs  de Dorothy D. Billington, Ph.D.
In an age of scarce resources and rapid change, Billington’s research shows that there are some effective ways to structure adult learning programs. She identifies the factors that best facilitate adult growth and development in adult learning environments. »

« Since its founding in 1980, New Horizons for Learning has been identifying, communicating, and helping to implement more effective ways of learning at all ages and abilities. We have done so through our conferences, workshops, consulting, publications, and since 1995 through our website that now receives around eight million hits a month. Our website is used by teachers, school administrators, professors and students of education, parents, policy makers, and media professionals. It has received numerous awards, including the most recent from the International Society for Technology in Education as one of the best education sites on the Internet.

After 26 years of voluntary service as a non-profit network, New Horizons for Learning has retired, but our website will remain accessible as long as possible.

The current issue of New Horizons for Learning’s online Journal will be the last for the time being, but all 50 issues will remain accessible in the archive […]

We have all had a remarkable adventure in learning through our organization that has from the very beginning created a life of its own. Life changing experiences have resulted for everyone involved, and we trust that our website will continue for some time to be a valuable resource to the world of education. »
